    Methode Electronics Inc. is seeking a dynamic individual for a position as a Security Engineer.  In this role, you will provide overall responsibility for supporting information security procedures that assure compliance while optimizing protections for confidentiality, integrity, and the availability of Methode’s information system.  You will be responsible for the deployment, support and maintenance of Palo Alto systems, Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) and Network Security System. You will also work with our customers who preform frequent security audits.

    • Act as the systems engineer for Methode’s Global security systems
    • Keep current with ever-changing security world to ensure Methode is protected from internal and external threats
    • Help deploy and maintain the Network Access Control initiative
    • Log monitoring of public facing systems to detect abnormalities and intrusions
    • Run vulnerability scans across internal and external hosts
    • Coordinate penetration testing and application code reviews
    • Actively participates in the following functions within IT: security regulations; physical security requirements; data classification; administrative security procedures; personnel security; security incident handling; security awareness and training; and access control
    • Ensure day-to-day management of all security systems and processes
    • Provide direct support for local Firewall, WAN and LAN network connectivity (PAN) and other network devices
    • Provide Level-2/Level-3 support to the Methode Help Desk Group on network related issues
    • Assure security related issues are addressed in a timely manner and that closed problems contain appropriate information including support for offsite/remote users
    • Provide accurate project plans, status and time keeping
    • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning to meet future security needs
    • Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
    • Work with IT counterparts across divisions in providing support, planning, exchange of ideas and improvements
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or applicable discipline
    • At least five (5) years of applicable experience
    • Knowledge in Palo Alto Security Systems with ability to obtain PCNSA/PCNSE Certifications within one year of hire (company paid)
    • Security Certifications a plus; PCNSE and CISSP 
    • Talari SDWAN technologies a plus
    • Cisco WAN/LAN Administration work experience
    • Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and firewall management
    • Excellent technical knowledge of Network Security
    • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards, including TCP/IP and Windows
    • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
    • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides 
    • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
    • Understanding of organizational goals and objectives
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Self-motivated and directed 
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment 
    • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
