  • Overview

    Generate new User Interface business for existing and targeted new customers.  For existing customers, manage current book of business to maximize profit margin and customer satisfaction along with generating new business opportunities and new business awards.  For targeted new customers, establish relationships, obtain new business RFQ’s and ultimately win new business awards.

    Responsibilities

    • Primary focus is booking new business for the User Interface product segment.
    • Develop and own strategies to secure new business RFQ’s and new business awards.
    • Lead Methode’s new business proposals to meet customer’s specifications, requirements and expectations.
    • Evaluate customer and industry requirements to capitalize on Methode’s broad technology “toolbox” and product portfolio to win new business.
    • Develop and build deep relationships with multiple customer levels and functions including Engineering, Design, HMI, Program Teams, Quality and Purchasing.
    • Lead and leverage internal cross function teams including Advanced Engineering, Marketing, Applications Engineering, Operations, Quote/Costing, Purchasing and Quality to communicate and confirm feasibility and profitability of new business opportunities.
    • Collect competitive and market intelligence to help define future industry needs and requirements, along with recommended actions to grow User Interface segment.
    • Define target customer vehicle cycle plans in order to develop pro-active (prior to the customer RFQ) plans and strategies in order to win new business.
    • Ability to effectively present commercial issues related to pricing & tooling to varied audiences and negotiate with customers to maximize growth and profitability.
    • Manage an Account Management records system, including sales forecasting, price change and part number change complexity details.

    Qualifications

     

    • Deep understanding of customer’s User Interface plans and related systems.
    • Broad experience engaging cross functional teams from product concept to award        and throughout program development.
    • Strong understanding of customer advanced development activities and approval milestones/process in order to progress initial concepts to ultimately booking new business awards.
    • Strong record of executing challenging assignments and exceeding expectations.
    • Strong written, verbal, presentation and leadership skills.
    • Experience interacting with customers from working level to mid-management to        upper-level management.
    • Energetic, ultimate ownership and can do attitude.
    • Strong financial and technical aptitudes.
    • Bachelor degree in Engineering and/or Business preferred.
    • More than 5 years of relevant business development/sales experience.
