  • Overview

    Support Manufacturing through design implementation and programming of custom automation and process controls in a fast paced environment. Design high power testing and verification cells for Power Stack type equipment.

    Responsibilities

      • Test, identify root cause and implement corrective actions for high-reliability and high-performance power electronics devices like inverters and converters.
    • Testing & troubleshooting of all hardware aspects of power converters from Power Bridge and device selection, passive component design and selection through control PCB interface controls including component selection for prototype and production programs.
    • Design, implement and program custom automated equipment for production and or testing from information provided by the shop floor. Short lead time based projects.

     

    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to reduce defects and implement new products
    • Assist with new product development validation and verification through in house and third party testing
    • Assist with new product development transfer to production
    • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
    • Lead projects to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout by employing lean methodologies.
    • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
    • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

    Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Electrical Skills
      • Automation experience.
      • Proficient in PLC programming.
      • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
      • Knowledge of AC Drives & DC Drives and / or power supplies.
      • Must be proficient at Microsoft Office.
      • Ability to interface with all disciplines in the manufacturing facility.
      • Must be organized and able to meet timeline requirements.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of the operation of DVM’s, Oscilloscopes, temperature probes, power supplies, and typical lab equipment. 
    • 6 Sigma Green Belt or equivalent. ( DMAIC, DOE, Graphs )
