  • Overview

    Methode Electronics is currently seeking a Project Champion ”Managing Director” with deep automotive technical, product development and launch experience to join the North American Automotive (NAA) Program Launch Team.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete Project/Program/Product/Product Line ownership including P&L, timing and customer satisfaction
    • Proactively manage a technical and launch cross-functional, product development team (project bullpens) to ensure that all safety, performance, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met for each and every program
    • Primary technical interface to the Customer
    • Lead technical program launch (PDPLS) deliverables
    • Product design release and bill of material (BOM) owner
    • Execute programs with discipline and excellence using the Product Development and Program Launch System (PDPLS) to meet all customer milestones
    • Lead technical problem resolution for design, testing, and manufacturing issues
    • Support business development activities during RFQ phase
    • Ensure program financial targets are met including profitability, ED&T, Tooling and Capital

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four year accredited college or university
    • A minimum of 10 years of automotive product development and/or launch experience
    • Strong business acumen
    • Organizational management experience (technical functional leader and/or group manager)
    • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including internal and external management staff
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong experience in customer communication, presentation and negotiations

     

    Work Environment:

    The primary functions of this job are performed in an office environment but often require visits to customer facilities including engineering centers as well as assembly plants. Travel to other Methode facilities may also be required including office and plant environments. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Some domestic and overseas travel will also be required for this job.
