    Leads and performs all aspects of design, development, implementation and test of interior automotive electronics (mechanical, electrical, software, systems) for Methode’s automotive electrics modules through the creations of internal product specifications, test plans and DVPnR’s. Fluent with the technical aspects of Cyber Security (Hardware and embedded Software). Interacts directly with all team members and provides technical guidance to the primary team decision-maker. This includes analyzing customer requirements, developing detailed Product Design specifications for mechanical, electrical and software design teams and interfacing with the customer for all testing of products.

    Responsibilities

    • Leads all aspects of design, development, implementation and test of mechanical, electrical, software and system design through the creation of internal product specifications, test plans and DVPnR’s.
    • Directly manages the Functional Safety requirements and design team to adhere to ISO26262 ASIL-B/C/D.
    • Manage Systems development to these timelines with teams located locally and globally from product inception to Launch.
    • Proactively interact with all disciplines within the program teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Resident Engineering to insure thorough product integration and development in alignment with specifications, acting as a lead individual representing Development Engineering.
    • Primary interface between Engineering, customer and Testing teams.
    • Leads development of and insures lighting aspects of TALC are met fully, leading interactions between ME, EE and SW engineering team members.
    • Analyzes customer requirements, develops Product Design requirements. Insures Product Design requirements are complete and holistic for our electro-mechanical products.
    • Insures all requirements generated meet or exceed those as required by Functional Safety requirements.
    • Develops formal test/validation plans. Achieves customer signoff of test/validation plans.
    • Performs primary engineering evaluation of software/hardware release candidates at customer’s site.
    • Participates in development of standard procedures and practices.
    • Participates in improvement of personal and departmental technical capabilities.
    • Supports customer builds, launches and production at company and customer plants. Drives to resolution any technical issues encountered by the customer during their development process.
    • Able to travel to manufacturing sites. Expected travel up to 25%.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of Bachelor degree (B.S) from a four year college or university in Electrical Engineering or Embedded Software engineering.
    • Minimum of 10 years of automotive interior/powertrain electronic products.
    • Minimum of 3 years of managing software or electrical development. Preference for development among various regions simultaneously.
    • Minimum of 3 years as a Functional Safety Manager within a Tier-1 automotive supplier company.
    • Working knowledge with ETAS and/or ATI.
    • Fluent with MS Project.
    • Experience with VectorCANdriver, and CAN analysis tools (Canoe, CANylzer).
    • First-hand Hardware/software debug experience.
    • Solid understanding of automotive specifications.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and handle various tasks at the same time.
    • Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment.
    • Strong interpersonal technical, organizational, presentational and motivational skills.
